Mr. LAI Chi-leung, Michael, Senior Superintendent of Hong Kong Police Force was invited to delivery a professional talk for our students.

Mr. LAI joined the Hong Kong Police in 1995 as an inspector after graduating from the University of Texas, Austin, US with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has over 23 years of service with a wealth of experience in criminal investigation, operational command, information systems and cyber security defence development. In the early part of his career, Mr. LAI worked in a wide range of posts at both district, regional and headquarters levels. He also played an instrumental role in developing the Force’s second-generation Communal Information System and Domestic Violence Database to support major policing works. Currently, Mr. LAI has attached to Service Standards Bureau, the Service Quality Wing as Senior Superintendent of Police who is responsible for the execution of Force Survey Strategy, Living-the-Values Workshop and Service Quality Award.

Mr. LAI has attended various overseas training programmes, including a management course for senior civil servants at the China Foreign Affairs University and a series of advanced cyber security courses in SANS Institute. Mr. LAI also holds a doctorate degree in Information Systems conferred by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests are in the areas of technology adoption, cyber security, big data and blockchain applications.

Previously an equity analyst & private banker with Citigroup & UBS respectively, Stanley accumulated rich Greater China sector know-how from across primarily the consumer, TMT & automobile industries, & have close connections with technology development across China & the US.
